FBRE · Commercial Layer of the UK Broadband Network

We sell the audience, the software, and
the domains behind UK broadband.

A small UK team running 20 live UK sites: seven commercial switching and deals sites, seven free, ad-free consumer tools, and six public-interest sites including ParentalControl.uk. Built for UK consumers, funded by the commercial side, in active engagement with Ofcom on accreditation.

What we owe UK consumers

Seven commercial sites fund thirteen free, ad-free public-interest sites.

Free where it matters

Seven of our twenty sites are free tools for UK consumers.

Speed tests, a "what speed do I actually need" calculator, a postcode coverage tool fed by Ofcom data, and a privacy-first password generator. No ads. No signup. No data kept.

Honest where we make money

Seven commercial sites carry a clear affiliate disclosure on every page.

Named editors, a published ranking methodology, public corrections log. We rank deals on Total Contract Value, not commission. The commercial side is what funds the rest of the network.

Working with Ofcom on accreditation

We have approached Ofcom directly. Active engagement is underway.

Ofcom has agreed to engage on their Price Comparison Accreditation Scheme and has issued us the Due Diligence pack, which we are actively completing. We do not yet hold accreditation. We will publish the submission and the outcome.

Safeguarding moat

Online safety, at the scale of UK schools.

ParentalControl.uk is the safeguarding spine of the SearchSwitchSave Group and the 20th site in the live network (launched May 2026). It has reached more than 28,000 UK schools and PTAs with practical online safety guidance, aligned to the Ofcom Online Safety Act Children's Codes of Practice that came into force on 25 July 2025. This is not a commercial line and the site carries no advertising or paid placements. It is a public-interest programme that materially strengthens our editorial standing across the rest of the network.

Frequently asked

Common questions before you book a call.

Three things, in order of priority. Tenancy and advertising across our live network of 20 UK sites (19 broadband-and-tools plus ParentalControl.uk safeguarding). Comparison-site builds for broadband and mobile. Premium UK broadband domains from our in-build inventory of 14.

It is the sum of organic, paid and social channels for the 12 months to 24 May 2026. Organic comes from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Paid and social comes from Meta Ad Manager, YouTube and the network social profiles. The full breakdown lives on the methodology page and is regenerated each quarter.

FBRE.uk is the commercial hub for the portfolio, not a consumer comparison destination. Consumer authority sits on the operating sites: BroadbandSwitch.uk (DR 74), Fibreswitch.com (DR 73), UKSpeedTest.co.uk (DR 73) and SearchSwitchSave.com (DR 72). We report both honestly. Vague claims do not win B2B mandates.

No. Our build studio uses trusted industry-leading comparison software with more than two decades of UK broadband production. We name the underlying technology under NDA on a qualified call, with a written brief and signed mutual NDA in place.

White-label speed test from £6,500 ships in two to three weeks. Postcode availability checker from £7,950 ships in two to four weeks. Switching journey from £27,950 ships in six to eight weeks. Full CMS comparison platform from £27,950 plus £2,000 monthly ships an MVP in six to eight weeks, then iterates.

Yes. Each domain in the portfolio is registered, hosted, indexed, and has a starter content stack. Backlink counts and last-refresh dates are published per domain. Transfer completes within seven working days of cleared funds, via a recognised escrow service.

It is the 20th site in the network but it is not part of the commercial offer. ParentalControl.uk is the safeguarding spine of the SearchSwitchSave Group, launched May 2026. It runs as a public-interest programme aligned to the Ofcom Children's Codes that came into force on 25 July 2025. It carries no advertising or paid placements, and it materially strengthens our editorial standing across the rest of the network.

Seven of the twenty. The seven commercial sites (BroadbandSwitch.uk, Fibreswitch.com, SearchSwitchSave.com, BroadbandNow.co.uk, BroadbandHunter.co.uk, HotBroadbandDeals.co.uk, NewcastleBroadbandDeals.co.uk) carry an affiliate disclosure on every page. Thirteen sites carry no advertising at all: seven free consumer tools, one safeguarding scanner, one wellbeing site, one explainer site, two community games, and the FBRE network hub. See /commitments for the full classification.

Not yet. We have approached Ofcom directly about the Price Comparison Accreditation Scheme. Ofcom has agreed to engage and has issued us their Due Diligence pack, which we are actively completing. We will publish the submission, the assessor's findings and the outcome (positive or negative) when complete.

They do not. The seven free consumer tools (UKSpeedTest.co.uk, Laggy.uk, HowFast.uk, RightSpeed.co.uk, BroadbandBoost.co.uk, BroadbandMap.org.uk, NewPasswordGenerator.co.uk) carry no advertising, no signup walls, no email capture and no resold data. They are funded by the seven commercial sites in the network.
